Kimbilio Fiction Fellows 2016

Desiree is a 2016 Kimbilio Fellow and will be writing and workshopping in Taos, New Mexico come July!

"Kimbilio means “safe haven” in Swahili.  We are a community of writers and scholars committed to developing, empowering and sustaining fiction writers from the African diaspora and their stories.

Projects include readings, presentations at professional conferences, social media networking, and an annual summer retreat for fiction writers who are members of the Kimbilio community.

If you are a serious-minded, committed writer with a solid grounding in the fundamentals of fictional craft than you should consider applying to become a Kimbilio Fellow.

Kimbilio is a project of the English Department and of the Dedman College of Humanities & Sciences at SMU."
